Lush lime

A small, hardy perennial, Heuchera ‘Blondie In Lime’ has lime-coloured leaves with orangey veins and lemonlime flowers. Try it with rich purples, such as the Royal Purple ‘Smoke Bush’, for an eye-popping display.

Frothy fronds

The lacy fronds of the shuttlecock fern (Matteuccia struthiopteris) are one of the first signs that spring is here. They need moist, dappled shade to thrive, and are a must in any woodland or water garden.
