1 Statement wallpaper
Cheaper than tiling, using a bold wallpaper in a bathroom can add a pop of colour and interest to any scheme. Make sure to seal with a matt varnish to waterproof the design, although it’s best to avoid wallpapering directly behind a bath or basin, as splashes can cause damage.
2 Free-standing bath
Make a traditional tub the star of the show in your bathroom, especially if you have a period property. Hunt out a bargain at an antiques fair or reclamation yard if you’re up for a restoration project. Otherwise, modern replicas are worth the investment.
3 Double up
Add twin basins, if space allows, as it will ease the morning crush, as well as giving your bathroom the wow-factor. Opt for a trough-like basin with two sets of taps for a streamlined but still sophisticated look.
