HAPPY Eco Easter!

Once upon a time, Easter was a pagan celebration of renewal and fertility, but today’s festivities centre around going to church, a long weekend and, of course, eating chocolate.

In the UK we buy around eight million chocolate eggs each year, with children receiving an average of eight each – along with some 8,000 extra calories. This choc-fest results in 3,000 tonnes of packaging waste, a lot of which is unrecyclable – such as the plastic film ‘window’ on the box, and plastic bags containing sweets inside the eggs.
