March 2020 will be remembered by most of us as the month we went into lockdown, when the coronavirus pandemic swept across the globe. But for Craig Revel Horwood, it will always be special because that was when he got engaged to his partner of two years, Jonathan Myring.
The couple were in Australia, where Craig was filming Dancing with the Stars, when Jonathan popped the question. But he admits he nearly scuppered Jonathan’s plans. On a romantic break in Tasmania between shows, Jonathan had organised a picnic on the banks of a river – but Craig declared he’d rather go back to their hotel and take a bath instead.
‘It didn’t work out very well for him, the poor thing,’ laughs Craig. ‘So when we went back to the hotel, he just jumped in the bath with me and proposed. It was a bit of a shock, but it was very romantic. And I think it’s strengthened our relationship. We’ve declared we’re going to make a lifelong commitment to one another now, and that’s really lovely.’
