I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Why hadn’t anyone told me this before? This was the piece of advice I’d been seeking for 30 years – and it was as simple as breathing!

I’d thought there was something wrong with me because I couldn’t banish negative thoughts. Instead, it turned out that thinking, whether positive or negative, was part of being human – and a feature of our minds that is not remotely related to whether we’re disciplined enough, serious enough or confident enough.
