HYPNOTHERAPY FOR MENOPAUSE

Hot flashes, stress and sweaty sleepless nights are all familiar symptoms we've come to associate with menopause. But there is one therapy that a growing number of women are turning to for help - and it's completely natural.

Dr Gary Elkins, Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at Baylor University in Texas, and director of the Mind-Body Medicine Research Lab says that hypnotherapy has become an increasingly popular therapy for menopause.

"Through hypnotherapy, people can experience deep relaxation, improved sleep, and a decrease in hot flashes," he says.

When done consistently, hypnotherapy Dr Elkins says can deliver noticeable results. "Empirical research has shown that on average, hypnotherapy can reduce hot flashes by 70 to 80 per cent," he explains. "It is also a pleasant mind-body experience that helps women to reduce hot flashes and improve their sleep during menopause at the same time."
