Bev and her neighbours bared all for cancer research

When Bev Hall approached her friends during happy hour at the Tuart Lakes Lifestyle Village where she lives in Perth, WA, asking them if they’d take part in a charity calendar shoot, the 71-year-old was overwhelmed with support.

There was just one catch – the ladies would be snapped in the buff!

“A dear friend of mine was diagnosed with breast cancer and more people I knew had either a connection with the disease or were battling or had beaten it themselves,” Bev tells Woman’s Day. “It became something close to my heart and I wanted to help research and find a cure for breast cancer.”

Fearful no-one would respond to her call-out, Bev was overjoyed when 20 ladies aged between 60 and 80 agreed to pose – wearing only their smiles – to raise money for Breast Cancer Network Australia.

One of those friends is fellow Tuart Lakes resident and cancer survivor Anne.

“I was diagnosed with breast cancer 30 years ago,” the 79-year-old reveals. “I’ve been in remission for a while now, but anything to do with raising awareness about breast cancer, I’m up for it… even if it means going full monty!”
