Life's too short not to forgive.
Today was the marriage of Lalit. He and his mother Aruna were happy. Manya’s family was known to them through some distant relatives. Both of them liked her and her family. Aruna was very particular about this alliance as she herself have had a bad marriage and raised Lalit after divorcing her husband as a single parent with great effort. For the past 20 years she has been managing everything on her own.
“I am so happy for you. My blessings are always with you.” Aruna said seeing Lalit in his groom’s attire. He touched his mother’s feet and hugged her and said, “Ma, I am proud to have a mother like you. You gave me everything I wanted. But if only my father would have respected you instead of harassing you, we all would have been together. But, I don’t care about that man who harassed you for dowry.”
“Don’t think about these things on this auspicious day. Be happy and live a wonderful life,” said Aruna.
Everything was going smoothly. Manya and Lalit were happy in their life and Aruna was busy with her boutique and household work. Being a working woman, Manya had already told them that she can’t cook and she doesn’t like household work. A maid can do these jobs, so you yourself manage.
After a few months, Manya said to Lalit, “I want some money for my younger brother’s higher studies as now my father can’t afford it. He is retired and he needs money for my younger sister’s marriage also.”
“But you know I need to pay our house loans apart from our personal expenses. I can’t ask ma to give me money even after my marriage. In fact, now I want that she should leave her job. You can send some money to him from your salary. I don’t mind,” said Lalit.
