Solar Power: An Alternative Source Of Energy

The sun has been around since life has existed. The co-founder of MYSUN, Divyanshu Sachdev, is a young entrepreneur with a vision to solarise the country and change the dynamics of the solar industry.

She has an experience of over seven years and has worked with the solar energy and investment banking domains. During her tenure in the solar industry, she identified the gaps that the industry faces and that the need of the hour is to change the current situation for the better.

Extracts from a chit chat with Divyanshu Sachdev:

The solar sector seems to be a man’s domain and has rarely seen prominent female entrepreneurs in this field. What made you choose this sector to start a business?

Not just solar, if you want to generalise, the power sector as a field has had more male participants, but so has tech in the past. It did not stop the likes of Marissa Mayer being an inspirational figure. Therefore, I feel that this is a tremendous opportunity for me to hopefully set the right example. I have been in the solar industry for the last eight years and needless to say that I have developed a lot of affinity towards it. I strongly believe that solar offers a very viable solution to the “Power for All” initiative that our country so desperately needs. Other than bringing power to the home, office or industry, solar would also help us combat the well-known effects of climatic change that we are all well versed in.
