You could say I have always been a creature of habit, residing quite happily in my comfort zone and steering away from the unknown. And being a creature of habit, on the last morning of December, I can always be found with a brand-new notebook laid open in front of me, as I begin to make my list of new year’s resolutions.
It’s a relatively easy list to make, as most of them are just repeats from the previous years, things that I never quite got round to, due to such a hectic schedule. Or as John would say, due to such a high level of avoidance. But I don’t know where he gets that idea!
This year, however, I’ve decided to add a few new ones, to push my boundaries so to speak. A milestone birthday can do that to you, especially when accompanied by the chants of bossy teenage offspring. Although I suppose that means I should leave out a few of the old ones, I mean there’s no point in overdoing these things, is there?
