Designing a space is like getting into a relationship – with the space itself, the story of the space, and the users of that space. “We like to ask questions, go deep into the purpose of the space, and chalk out a design that evolves as our conversation and relationship with the space and users does – and that becomes our firm foundation, on the basis of which the layout is sketched out,” says Design Director of क ख ग Design Studio, Virali Malhotra. The layout is the core of the design. Everything else builds up from that. For क ख ग Design Studio, a layout is not simply a mechanically made representation of the dimensions and components of the space. It is a summary of this relationship.
