There's something distinctive about each of their projects- it's minimal yet dramatic, luxurious yet subtle, traditional yet avant-garde. It's difficult to compartmentalise them into any particular genre or design aesthetic. What binds all their projects together is a sense of drama. There's always an anticipation of the unexpected. The Hyderabad-based husband and wife duo Aamir and Hameeda are synonymous with spaces that intrigue and surprise the onlooker. "Our approach to design is experimental," says Aamir Sharma. "Rules are meant to be broken," concedes Hameeda.
A quick glance at their portfolio will illustrate their penchant for the unconventional. From South Indian actor Allu Arjun's award-winning, box-shaped farmhouse in Hyderabad, actor Nagarjuna's restaurant N Grill in Hyderabad, to an extremely sculpturesque micro-brewery in Bengaluru. The designers who recently forayed into bespoke furniture design with their design store 'Onedot6' in Hyderabad, have also designed Nagarjuna's son Naga Chaitanya's 15,000sq ft home in Hyderabad and a 15,000sq ft home for Lakshmi Chalasani of the Chalasani family.
