HOT on the heels of its Ocean all-electric SUV, Californian start-up Fisker has revealed four new models: the smaller Pear SUV, the Ronin sports car, the Alaska pick-up and an off-road version of the Ocean, called Force E.
The Pear-set to become Fisker's biggest seller when it goes on sale in 2025-sits below the Ocean in the line-up and will cost from $29,900 (£23,500) in the US.
As with the Ocean, the Pear will be built by another company on behalf of Fisker, in this case Taiwanese electronics giant Foxconn, which is more famous for making iPhones than cars.
Pear stands for Personal Electric Automotive Revolution. The SUV shares its big brother's sporty styling and focus on sustainability.
Fisker started the Pear programme by analysing how young people use their cars, and it expects the Pear to be particularly popular with a new generation of car buyers.
As such, there are plenty of flexible storage solutions, including a 'froot' (a front boot) and a clever 'Houdini' Trunk that frees up a surprising amount of extra space. "Everything in the dashboard is about storage, including rubber bands to store things," said Fisker CEO Henrik Fisker.
In keeping with Fisker's promise that every new model will have at least four USPS, the Pear can be specified with six seats set out in two rows of three - in the style of the old Fiat Multipla MPV.
