INDIAN CAR OF THE YEAR
Auto Today|January 2024
The prestigious Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) awards are reserved for the very best and Hyundai dominated proceedings by claiming the ICOTY for the EXTER title as well as the Green Car Award for the IONIQ 5
INDIAN CAR OF THE YEAR

No car maker has taken as many Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) trophies home as Hyundai Motor India Ltd., having won the award a record seven times. At the 2024 edition of what is widely regarded as the Oscars of the Indian automotive industry, Hyundai drove home with not one, but two trophies with the Hyundai IONIQ 5 claiming the Green Car Award 2024 by ICOTY while the Hyundai EXTER won the Indian Car of the Year 2024 title. Winning these awards is no mean feat as the contenders from across segments compete with each other vying for the votes of 19 jury members representing India’s most illustrious publications and media houses. Coming out on top is tough, but if there’s any car maker in India that properly knows how to win the hearts of Indian car buyers and critics alike, it’s Hyundai.

With the EXTER, Hyundai has once again showcased just how well it understands the needs and wants of the consumer by developing a product that stands head and shoulders above the rest. A fresh take on Hyundai’s ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design identity, the EXTER grabs eyeballs with its progressive and unique styling, a bold SUV stance and attractively styled elements like the H-shape LED DRLs and tail lamp signatures and parametric design details. Projector headlamps, 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and EXTER branding on the nose help further enhance the sense of premium-ness portrayed by this SUV.
