MG has taken a brave step towards urban mobility. The new MG Comet is purely a city tool and promises utility and luxury all put together. Here is how it drives
The shooting STAR

Cities are getting congested and cars are getting bigger and bigger. MG Motors claims that 70 per cent of Indians drive alone most of the time. So a micro-car it seems is the need of the hour. Enter the MG Comet.

The MG Comet is 2,974mm in length and just 1,505mm wide. This makes it one of the smallest cars in the country. However sporting a height of 1,640mm, the Comet surely is a tall car. Speaking of design, the Comet again is a unique proposition. A minuscule bonnet sits up front and large LED headlamps dominate the front end. The charging pod sits in front and the MG logo residing on it is backlit. In profile, one can see that the wheels are pushed far into the corners and this allows the Comet to sport a wheelbase of 2,010mm which is quite substantial. The Comet is a two-door hatch and this means access to the rear seats is via the single door. So is getting in easy? We shall get to that shortly. The Comet rides on small 12 steel wheels and alloys are not even on the options list. At the back, the LED tail lights are acccompanied by a lit panel and this gives the Comet a rather interesting look. Much like the sides, the rear end is also quite slab-sided. Overall the Comet looks like nothing we have seen on Indian roads.
