BAC shifts upmarket with Monterey launch of new Mono

The new Mono sticks with a fettled version of the 2.5-litre naturally aspirated Ford motor used by the existing model.

The engine revs to 8000rpm and sends 316bhp and 231lb ft of torque to the rear wheels, making the 570kg Mono good for a 0-60mph time of 2.7sec.

Next year, the Mono is due to switch to the turbocharged 2.3-litre Ecoboost engine from the Ford Focus ST, in pursuit of reduced emissions.
