Because, at the end of the day, reviews are mainly about finding the flaws and showcasing the reasons behind them. But nonetheless, we have to do it. So let's dive in! Mahindra & Mahindra just unveiled the BE 6e and XEV 9e based on their latest INGLO platform, and these beauties are born electric, meaning every curve and crevice has been crafted with EV fans in mind-unlike their XUV 400, which is more of a "what if" electric than a "born this way" electric.
The launch was nothing short of electrifying: Media from the auto, lifestyle, and tech worlds were flown into Chennai at the MSPT track. Picture this: drifting and groov-ing performances by Gaurav Gill, with bold marketing materials splashed across every corner. The night before a launch event which was a two-hour showcase to a packed hall of media and other stake holders patiently learning about the cars.
To set the scene, Mahindra brought their A-game; they've managed to roll out cars that were designed from scratch in just three years, while building a new plant from the ground up. With a medley of investors and stakeholders, including British backers, they're shaking things up for Tata, who's had the upper hand with their Nexon, Tiago, and Curvy EV line-up.
But let's get down to business! The BE 6e is positioned to take on luxury brands with a price tag that's hard to resist, and it will play a huge role in ramping up EV adoption in India. Bookings are set to open in January, and if the buzz is any indication, we're looking at potential bookings soaring past 50,000! But hold on!
The Creta EV and Suzuki E Vitara are also ready to debut in January 2025, not to mention Tata's Sierra EV, which could give Tata the Thar-like edge against Mahindra! Buckle up-the world of EVs is going to get very exciting, and consumers will have lots to choose from.
