TORO OF THE TOWN

A day after Valentine’s Day, we found ourselves in the middle of a desert, not exactly a traditional romantic getaway. But our mission was far more thrilling: to test ride Hero’s most powerful motorcycle yet, the Hero Mavrick 440.

We had admired its silhouette at the launch, but now we were ready to experience it firsthand. Sharing a platform with the Harley-Davidson X440, the Mavrick nevertheless carves its own path aesthetically. The aggressive headlight design, sculpted tank, and sleek rear section combine to create a powerful presence.

The true heart of the beast lies in its engine. The pre-ride presentation focused on usable torque, a clear differentiator that Hero proudly touted as the bike’s USP. Our journey began with navigating the vast expanse of the Rann of Kutch, a perfect landscape to grasp the Mavrick’s capabilities. The comfortable riding position, poised handling, and surge of torque in every gear (except maybe the sixth) solidified its credentials as a mile-munching machine. Every aspect of the Mavrick felt well-considered, a testament to the focused vision behind its creation. Unlike some motorcycles that try to be everything to everyone, the Mavrick embraces its identity as a champion cruiser in its price range.
