Against a backdrop of innovation and sustainability, Volkswagen took centre stage in the Pink City of Jaipur, unveiling a host of model updates and other initiatives at its Annual Brand Conference that promise to give the competition something to think about.
Volkswagen introduced three new trims — ‘GT Edge’, ‘Chrome’, and ‘Sport’ — each tailored to offer a unique design persona catering to the diverse preferences of Indian consumers. Alongside this line structure-refresh, the firm also revealed two new variants: the Taigun GT Plus Sport and the Taigun GT Line.
Under the ‘Chrome’ line, customers are presented with a choice between two engine options: the 1.5-litre TSI EVO with 7-speed DSG and 6-speed manual transmissions, or the 1-litre TSI with 6-speed automatic and 6-speed manual transmissions. The new ‘Sport’ line introduced a visually distinct ‘dark’ identity, with a predominance of black accents. The GT Plus Sport variant has the 1.5-litre TSI EVO powertrain, while the GT Line variant features the 1-litre TSI powertrain, offering customers a range of options to suit their driving preferences.
