It’s been a year now since Maruti Suzuki brought back their legendary nameplate, the Grand Vitara after a nine-year hiatus. This time, however, the nameplate returned as the marque’s flagship offering as a premium midsize SUV. This is the carmaker’s proper crack at a segment that has had the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta dominate it as sibling titans. Fast forward a year and before we get excessive with the puns, the Grand Vitara has certainly had a grand year of existence, as Maruti Suzuki has revealed that the SUV has managed to cross the one lakh sales mark.
What makes this achievement more impressive is the fact that the carmaker claims that the Grand Vitara is one of the quickest in its segment to achieve this sales milestone.
