Mercedes-Benz announces plans of making combustion engines beyond 2030

During its annual conference, Mercedes-Benz CEO Ola Källenius revealed the carmaker's plan to continue selling combustion engine vehicles into the 2030s, adapting to the changing demand for electric cars. This decision contrasts with their 2021 goal to transition to an all-electric lineup by 2030, contingent upon market conditions. Källenius informed investors that up to 50 percent of sales would comprise electrified drivetrains by the second half of the decade, a revision from the original target of 50 percent by 2025.
