Teaching our kids the right road etiquette is important
START 'EM YOUNG

Children of today are leaders of tomorrow. The habits and actions of today's children will shape the future of our roads and the safety of our communities. But where do children pick up habits and mannerisms from? It is from us adults. Children are highly impressionable. Especially those aged around five years are heavily influenced by the adults around them. They pick up on the behaviour of their elders and often mimic it well into adulthood.

Take Jia for example. A bright child, she is quite observant and picks up on things around her quite easily. Her role model is her father Jignesh and she loves to mimic everything he does. Besides being a doting father, Jignesh is a prime example of a model citizen. He not only likes to do things the right way but feels that it is his responsibility to follow social norms. Jignesh is well aware of his daughter's affinity to mimic his actions and takes extra care to do the right thing all the time.
