Smriti Pandey: Briefly describe 3 HR initiatives that have had the biggest impact on the organization during the last 3 years.
Ganapathi Subramanian S: Over the past 3 years, Sundaram Home Finance has undertaken several impactful HR initiatives that have significantly shaped our culture and yielded substantial benefits. Identifying just 3 of these is challenging, as each initiative complements and enhance each other’s success. However, 3 key initiatives that stand out for their transformative impact are (i) leadership development programs, (ii) overhaul of our performance management system, and (iii) comprehensive learning and development programs.
First, our investment in leadership development programs has been instrumental in strengthening our talent pipeline. Focusing on leadership growth has fostered a learning culture and improved decision-making processes across all levels. These programs have equipped our leaders with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate complex challenges, driving our organization forward and ensuring a robust leadership framework.
Second, we have overhauled our performance management system, transitioning from annual reviews to continuous one. There are 2 formal feedbacks besides regular one given by the reporting manager from time to time. This shift allows employee to do course correction and improve overall performance and productivity. Continuous feedback has fostered a culture of continuous learning and development. Employees receiving timely guidance and support has boosted engagement and productivity.
