AS THE FIRST light of dawn breaks, a slight nip hangs in the air, accompanied by a soft mist that hovers over the meticulously manicured fairways of the Oxford Golf Course, Pune, which played host to the Royal Ranthambore Business Today Golf Tournament for the first time after 2018 on January 12, 2024.
It was 7 a.m. when golfers began approaching the registration area of one of India's exclusive invite-only corporate golfing events. Soon, there was a palpable buzz of activity. The sun was by now casting a warm golden glow, unveiling the beauty of the Western Ghats in the background.
The undulating greens and strategically placed bunkers of the 18-hole championship course that opened in 2009 delivered an unforgettable experience for golf enthusiasts, as shown by the scores.
Through the next four hours of play, the golfers showcased their skills as well as camaraderie. When the dust settled, Deepa Singal emerged victorious in the ladies category, while Sushant Khosla claimed the title in the men’s 0-14 handicap category and Milind Barde was declared the winner in the men’s 15-24 handicap category.
