SJVN Limited, a Mini Ratna, Category-I and Schedule - 'A' CPSE under administrative control of the Ministry of Power, Government of India, was incorporated on May 24, 1988, as a joint venture of the Government of India (GOI) and the Government of Himachal Pradesh (GOHP). SJVN is now a listed Company having a shareholding pattern of 59.92 per cent with the Government of India, 26.85 per cent with the Government of Himachal Pradesh and the rest of 13.23 per cent with public. The present paid up capital and authorized capital of SJVN is ₹3,929.80 crore and ₹7,000 crore, respectively.
Business
After its incorporation, SJVN commenced its journey by constructing and operating India's largest Hydro Power Station i.e. 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station and now has a portfolio of 46,879.40 MW. This Power Station in Himachal Pradesh was commissioned in the Financial Year 2003-04. Since then, SJVN has successfully commissioned six more projects, which include 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh, 47.6 MW Khirvire Wind Power Project in Maharashtra, 5.6 MW Charanka Solar Power Plant in Gujarat, 50 MW Sadla Wind Power Project in Gujarat, 1.31 MW Grid Connected Solar Power Station (NJHPS) in Himachal Pradesh and 75 MW Parasan Solar Power Plant in Uttar Pradesh. The current installed capacity of SJVN is 2091.5 MW besides one Transmission Line of 86 km length.
