Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) have become a significant health concern in India, leading to a high incidence rate of mortality and disability. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the death rate for CVDs in India is 272 per one lakh population, which is higher than the global average of 235. In recent years, the prevalence of CVDs in India has increased rapidly due to lifestyle changes and risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia, physical inactivity, diet, and addiction.
Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are a significant cause of mortality worldwide. In India, CVDs account for 28 percent of all deaths, with ischemic heart disease and stroke being the two most common causes. To combat this rising issue, the medical industry has emphasized the need for technology-driven investigative and therapeutic modalities, including imaging, cath lab, angiographic radiographic tools, contrast agents, and electronically implanted cardiovascular devices. Cardiovascular devices have become instrumental in diagnosing and managing arrhythmia, heart failure, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, and other heart conditions. With increasing economic status and a growing focus on healthcare, there has been a significant rise in the adoption levels of advanced cardiovascular devices, promoting medical tourism.
India has a higher mortality rate due to CVDs in the 40-69 year age group, and the incidence of the disease is spreading like a mini-pandemic. Diagnostic tools such as Electrocardiogram machines, Echocardiography (USG), Holter monitoring, X-ray, CT, and MRI are used to diagnose and treat major cardiovascular conditions and improve the quality of life. USG devices, such as 2D echo, are used to analyze cardiac functions and detect structural cardiac abnormalities.
