Adding up synergies

Manu Sasidharan, Head of Hotels, Cleartrip, discusses the collaboration between Cleartrip and Flipkart Travel on this 'Big Billion Day' sale
Adding up synergies

The 'Big Billion Day' is a massive online sale from Flipkart - India's retail platform. How was the collaboration experience for Cleartrip?

Post the acquisition of Cleartrip by Flipkart, we had an opportunity to enable travel options for our customers on its e-commerce platform too. Our immediate focus was to set up the technology at Cleartrip first and then take a step forward on launching it for the customers on Flipkart too.

How many hotels does Cleartrip have for its customers to choose from?

Domestically, we have nearly 55,000 and 2,50,000 hotels internationally on both Cleartrip and Flipkart Travel platforms. Given this, we will continue to build our portfolio of hotels.

Can you give us a brief on how Flipkart Travel works? How does the flash-sale prices differ from the actual ones?

Cleartrip powers Flipkart hotels via an API with Flipkart. Our team manages the supply and contracting at Cleartrip. There is no price differentiation on our platforms. The hotel partners power the pricing. We offer benefits to customers based on bank partnerships. This unique benefit is not available with any other channel.
