MANY A SHOW AND STAR HAVE SAID ALOHA TO THE SHORES OF HAWAII
Island FEVER

MAGNUM, P.I.

During his run as P.I. Thomas Magnum, from 1980 to 1988, Tom Selleck became a star...and filming on Hawaii's third-largest island of Oahu suited him just fine. "I did not relish the loss of privacy that came with the success of Magnum," Tom confessed.

"But it helped to be isolated in paradise, filming in Hawaii. Nobody had the budget to come over and follow me around!"

HAWAII FIVE-O

Book this, Danno! While playing Det. Steve McGarrett from  1968 to 1980, New York native Jack Lord copped to he and  wife Marie falling in love with the 50th state. “This is our  permanent, only and last home,” he said during his run. “And here we will stay for as many years as are left for us on this earth.” True to his word, he’d pass away in the Hawaiian capital of Honolulu in 1998 at the age of 77.
