Linda Evangelista has a lot of reasons to be happy. The supermodel, 57, has returned to work to star in a new ad campaign for the Italian fashion brand Fendi. She also announced that she has settled her $50 million lawsuit against CoolSculpting's parent company. After undergoing seven treatments of the fat freezing procedure in 2015 and 2016, Linda developed a rare side effect that caused fatty tissue to thicken and become hard, visible bulges on her chin, thighs and underarm areas.
This adverse reaction affects less than 1 percent of CoolSculpting patients. "[My doctor] told me no amount of dieting, and no amount of exercise was ever going to fix it," said Linda who stopped working for several years. "I don't look in the mirror. It doesn't look like me."
Now, with a new ad and the settlement of her suit, Linda's ready to move on. "I look forward to the next chapter of my life," she says, "and am happy to put this matter behind me."
