Recreating Jesus’ final meal with his disciples took careful consideration for the creators of The Chosen: The Last Supper. “Whether it be through artwork or other depictions, people expect what the Last Supper should be,” Jonathan Roumie, who stars as Jesus, tells Closer exclusively. “I want people to see that particular scene and come away with a deeper understanding of what that evening was and what it meant.”
More than 200 million viewers around the world have already seen episodes of The Chosen, the serialized life of Jesus created by 5&2 Studios, but season 5 promises to be its most explosive yet. The first two episodes in Part One will be released in theaters on Friday, March 28.
