Anjini Dhawan is bursting with excitement as she embarks on her film career. With a debut film like Binny And Family on the horizon, her enthusiasm is palpable. Being born to Siddharth Dhawan and Reena Dhawan, and growing up around the film industry—whether practising scenes with her grandmother Rashmi Dhawan’s students in her acting class or assisting her granduncle David Dhawan on the set of Coolie No. 1 acting seems like a natural fit for her.
She recounts how a seemingly unrelated audition from a year earlier caught the eye of director Sanjay Tripaathy.
“Sanjay Tripaathy sir saw an audition I did for another film, which I didn’t even get,” Anjini explains. “He felt I had the right vibe to play Binny.” After meeting him and diving into the story, she auditioned for the role and secured it.
Working alongside seasoned actors such as Pankaj Kapur, Himani Shivpuri and Rajesh Kumar was a fulfilling experience for her. “It felt like one big family working together,” Anjini comments about their 30-day shoot in London. The film’s theme of family, bridging generations from grandparents.
