Rakul Preet Singh is so refreshingly candid that talking to her feels like you're talking to a girl pal, who has had her life figured out and to whom you always go for advice. She's so clear in her vision about what she wants from life and career that you envy her clarity. And to think that she's done it all on her own, with no Godfather in sight. Through sheer grit and determination, she's carved a niche for herself and is currently counted as a dependable actor not only in the Hindi film industry but down South as well. She's coming up with a film called Chhatriwali, where she plays a condom tester. The talented actress talks about finding herself and more in a free-flowing interview. Excerpts:
WORKWISE, YOU’VE HAD A VERY BUSY YEAR. FOUR FILMS IN A ROW... DO YOU THINK IT’S THE BEST PHASE OF YOUR CAREER?
I just want to work and keep doing good work. So right now, I am grateful that I have the films that I have. This year has been incredible. But I’m more concerned with what I’ll be signing after these releases. I am always working toward the future.
YOUR NEXT RELEASE IS CHHATRIWALI. DO YOU FEEL FILMMAKERS’ PERCEPTIONS HAVE CHANGED AND THEY NOW BELIEVE YOU CAN CARRY A FILM ON YOUR SHOULDERS?
