Prominent filmmaker Jabbar Patel was bestowed with the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award at the recently held Planet Marathi Presents Filmfare Awards Marathi 2022. Nikhil Mahajan took home the Best Director trophy for Godavari. The film also bagged the Best Film Award. Jitendra Joshi too won the Best Actor Critics' Award for the same film. Me Vasantrao won the Best Film Critics' Award. The musical also won a slew of other awards, including Best Actor In A Supporting Role (Female) for Anita Date and Best Playback Singer (Male) for Rahul Deshpande, who also played the role of his grandfather, Vasantrao Deshpande in the film. Best Actor In A Leading Role (Male) trophy went to Prasad Oak for his lifelike portrayal of popular politician, Late Anand Dighe, in Dharmaveer, while Best Actor In A Leading Role (Female) Award went to Sayali Sanjeev for her role in the feel-good film Goshta Eka Paithanichi. LIFETIME ACHIVEMENT AWARD 

DR. JABBAR PATEL

He's a qualified doctor who turned his attention to theatre and films and worshipped at the altar of neo-realism. His production of Vijay Tendulkar's play Ghashiram Kotwal, in 1973 is considered a classic in Modern Indian Theatre.

He went on to make classic Marathi films like, Samna, Jait Re Jait, Umbartha, Simhasan, Mukta, Ek Hota Vidushak and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. He won the 1995 Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration for his Marathi film, Mukta. Jabbar Patel is the chairman of the Pune Film Foundation and the festival director of the Pune International Film Festival.
