Wamiqa Gabbi’s character in the hit series Jubilee is delightful to watch. She’s amoral, ambitious and has no qualms about sleeping her way to the top. But there’s a vulnerability to her as well which reaches out to you and make you root for her, no matter what. In Khufiya, she’s a bored housewife in the first half and an avenging angel in the next. In the detective series Charlie Chopra, she plays a bubbly detective who can detect like the best of them. She’s having the time of her life but knows that this won’t last for long. She’s enjoying every minute of it though, as can be seen from the sparkle in her eyes, the spring in her step. She feels she needs to lose weight, so in between sips of herbal tea, she answers our salvos…
YOUR ROLES IN JUBILEE, CHARLIE CHOPRA AND THE MYSTERY OF SOLANG VALLEY AND KHUFIYA ARE GETTING TALKED ABOUT.
I am enjoying this phase a lot, but I also know that this is temporary. My parents are happy and I am so happy that I am making them proud. My parents have come to Mumbai. When they were coming from the airport to my house, on the highway, they saw hoards of Charlie and Khufiya. It was such an amazing moment. I’ve also bought my first car, a Jeep Meridian. My father really likes SUVs. I knew that when he came here, he would love to drive it.

Women's era
Kiran Rao, Payal Kapadia and Shuchi Talati are redefining contemporary Indian cinema by placing women at the centre of their narratives, offering a refreshing perspective through the female gaze. Their films, Laapataa Ladies, All We Imagine As Light, and Girls Will Be Girls, not only explore women-oriented stories but also challenge the traditional male-dominated lens of storytelling, creating nuanced portrayals of women's experiences, aspirations and struggles.
