Marathon runners lucky to survive spooky encounter

A CHILLING photo shows long-distance runner Kay Borleis dash down a Hawaiian forest trail unknowingly being watched by a sinister figure sources insist is a legendary demon known as a Night Marcher.

Borleis, 37, and her pal Cassie, who snapped the spooky photo, were not aware they were being watched from the dark growth near the forest path as they competed in the HURT100, the ultra runners’ 100-mile endurance race on the Honolulu Mauka trail on Oahu.

“To this day, we still don’t know what it was,” says Borleis, a senior art director and designer who works in advertising.
