EIGHTEEN MONTHS AFTER HER CONSERVATORSHIP ENDED, BRITNEY SPEARS IS STRUGGLING ALL OVER AGAIN

Barely a year-and-a-half after the conservatorship that ruled her life for more than 13 years was dissolved by a judge, concern for Britney Spears arose again. In February, widespread media reports emerged claiming that friends, business associates and loved ones - who were growing increasingly worried about the pop star's mental health had planned and then suddenly scrapped an intervention after the singer got wind of it. Her husband, Sam Asghari, 29, later issued a statement confirming "an intervention did not occur."

But that doesn't mean those fears for Britney have gone away. "Britney's family have been worried for months. Her erratic behavior, disturbing social media posts and public outbursts have been clues that she's on some kind of downward spiral," explains a source, adding that to people who love the singer, 41, "it seems like a subconscious cry for help."

The situation has felt reminiscent of Britney's behavior more than 15 years ago when she suffered public breakdowns and was twice committed to a psychiatric ward, in 2008, which led her father, Jamie Spears, 70, to pursue the conservatorship something no one wants to see happen again, adds the source. "Her family are concerned that this will end badly," says the source. "Without an intervention, they think she's headed for another breakdown. But Britney refuses to accept that she needs help."
