It's an extremely rare disease. But for those suffering from stiff-person syndrome (SPS), like Celine Dion, the painful muscle spasms and movement-inhibiting rigidity are all too real. The singer, 56, opened up about the daily fight she faces in honor of International SPS Awareness Day on March 15.
"Trying to overcome this autoimmune disorder has been one of the hardest experiences of my life," Celine, who was diagnosed with the debilitating condition in the fall of 2022, shared on Instagram. "I remain determined to one day get back onto the stage and to live as normal of a life as possible. I am deeply grateful for the love and support from my kids, family, team and all of you!"
