Fears American Idol judge knew about predator ex-hubby

POP star Katy Perry has been swept up in her ex-hubby Russell Brand’s shocking sexual assault scandal with questions about what she knew and when she knew it — and insiders say the answers could sink her career!

Brand, 48, is under police investigation after accusations of brutal sexual assault by several women — and Katy hinted in the past she knew about the actor’s dark side before bailing on their marriage after 14 months!

In a resurfaced 2013 interview, the I Kissed a Girl singer talks about the “real truth” that led her to divorce Brand in 2012.

“I felt a lot of responsibility for it ending, but then I found out the real truth, which I can’t necessarily disclose because I keep it locked in my safe for a rainy day,” says the American Idol judge. “I let go and I was like: This isn’t because of me. This is beyond me. So, I have moved on from that.” 

But moving on from the Brand scandal may not be easy. Sources say people are now wondering if Katy could have blown the whistle and exposed a predator.

“The feeling is, if she knew about what sort of man he was, why didn’t she say anything,” says a Hollywood insider.
