Fridays are about to be filled with laughter again, as Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond return to the This Morning sofa for their weekly presenting slot.
The pair hosted the show for two weeks in July before heading off for a summer break. “We have so much fun together that doing it every day for those two weeks was a blast,” laughs Dermot, 49.
Their return promises to feature more celebrity chats, great guests and giggles aplenty from the pair, who no longer have to sit far apart as they did during the height of Covid.
“It’s so lovely to be free and to be sitting closer together now,” says Alison, 47.
Here, the co-hosts reveal what they got up to this summer, what it’s like working together on This Morning and exactly what they privately message each other when they are apart…
Hi, both! What did you do with your time off this summer?
Alison: I went to Disney in America with my son Aiden, we had been really looking forward to that – such fun.
Dermot: I’ve been doing my house up.
Alison: I said to Dermot he and the family could move into my house while it’s being done.
Dermot: Along with all the other people living there… her house is like a manger! She takes in every waif and stray.
What do you miss about each other when you’re not filming?
Alison: The familiarity. He’s the longest boyfriend I’ve had in my life.
