Wedding planner Amy Kenyon is nervously waiting in an elegant white gown as a make-up artist makes the final touches to her face. Not only is the 27-year-old about to get married - she's going to meet her husband for the first time at the end of the aisle at a wedding she hasn't planned.
Blackburn-based Amy is the latest bride to appear in Married At First Sight UK's current series, joining the cast as a late arrival. As new tags along for her exciting wedding day, Amy says it's been "amazing" to hand over wedding planning responsibility to the show's team.
"I've seen from experience that planning a wedding as a bride is very stressful, but imagine planning a wedding to somebody you don't know," she says in her dressing room at Luton Hoo Hotel in Bedfordshire - just metres away from her mysterious groom.
"It's been really nice." After finding herself in "dire" relationships, Amy signed up to MAFS UK in the hope of finding a husband outside of the "narcissistic" type she usually ends up with. "I go for the type of person who doesn't usually have a personality - they have the personality of a pencil," she says. "They've got nothing inside.
I always seem to be with quite controlling people and I'm easily manipulated because I trust everything that everybody says, so hopefully I'll find someone nice." As someone who says she rarely goes out, it's been hard for Amy to meet potential suitors.
"I sound like a loner but I don't really go out a lot," she says.
"I like to spend my time going on holiday and I work all the time so it's difficult to meet somebody.
