After an incredible few months on the road with her Girls Aloud bandmates, Kimberley Walsh is back home, but still on a performing high. The busy mum-of-three has now eased herself back into family life with husband Justin Scott and their sons Bobby, nine, Cole, seven, and three-year-old Nate.
In an exclusive interview, the pop star and Morning Live presenter tells us what it was like having her boys at her concerts and how she copes with the daily work/life juggle…
Hi, Kimberley! How’s life now that you’re back at home with your three boys?
Well, it’s tough at times! Just trying to give them all of what they need all the time and sharing yourself between them. As boys, they really want their mum a lot, but I’ve got to be realistic about my own expectations and what I can do.
You’re one of four children. Do you think that has influenced how you parent?
My parents were separated and my mum had to stretch herself between us all. It’s only now I’m a parent myself that I can appreciate how hard it must have been. I think as a child you turn to your siblings more in that situation, and we’re so, so close now.
You and Justin must be very busy. Do you hold planning meetings in your house?
It’s not really a very organised diary! It’s a bit of, “OK, I need to work then, so can you be free?” It’s finding that balance, constantly.
