When we catch up with TOWIE star Amy Childs and her fiancé Billy Delbosq, the pair are still very much in a blissful baby bubble.
Amy – who’s already mum to Polly, six, and five-year-old Ritchie from previous relationships – gave birth to twins Billy and Amelia (or Milly as she’s known) just over four months ago, and is full of compliments for “amazing” first-time dad Billy, 40.
Despite their happiness, the memory of Amy’s “incredibly traumatic” labour is still vivid – little Billy Jr had a prolapsed umbilical cord [when the cord slips down in front of the baby after the waters have broken, which can reduce oxygen supply to the child]. However, she insists the experience brought her and Billy Sr closer, even if they are still trying to come to terms with how close they could have come to losing their son.
Amy, 33, went back to work just two days after the twins were born, and while she admits she’s experiencing “mum guilt” juggling work and family, she says she wouldn’t change her new life “for the world”. And while she’d like to get back into shape before she and Billy get married, she’s says for now she’s far too exhausted to even think about working out.
Here, in our exclusive interview, Amy and Billy, who met almost two years ago, lift the lid on their hectic lifestyle. They also tell us about their engagement, with Billy popping the question less than a month after welcoming the twins. And it sounds like wedding bells could be ringing as soon as next year…
