Fans hope for a 1D reunion

One Direction fans around the world were devastated by the news of Liam Payne’s death, aged 31, after he fell from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires on October 16.

And as they grieved and sang their favourite songs at various vigils, their thoughts turned to how Liam’s bandmates might pay their respects.

Some devoted Directioners took to social media to suggest that Zayn Malik, who quit the band in 2015, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan should reunite for a show to honour their late friend.

One commented on X, “If there is ever a One Direction reunion, I will be there. It doesn’t matter how far or how expensive it is.”

Another wrote, “Controversial opinion. If One Direction had a reunion, it would surpass The Eras Tour. It would break all records. Easily one of the most loved bands in the history of the world.”

Others fan expressed how bittersweet such an event would be, with one saying, “It breaks my heart that we are only ever going to get a reunion due to an actual loss. Liam, may your soul be at ease.”
