After the announcement last week that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have parted ways with Spotify and their $20 million deal has come to an end, there was much speculation about what the former royals would do next to sustain their lavish lifestyle.
And as reports emerged that the couple were planning to pocket up to £15 million by signing a "mega-bucks" deal with fashion house Dior - something that has since been denied culture and brand expert Nick Ede told new he wouldn't be surprised if the couple have set their sights on trying to rival the likes of Victoria and David Beckham to make money.
"I think that Harry and Meghan are going to go down the brand route," said Nick. "Meghan has always loved this idea of creating this whole sort of lifestyle environment that people buy into."
It's no secret that once upon a time, Harry and Meghan were big fans of Posh and Becks and the A-list couple were among the many celebrity guests at their wedding at Windsor Castle in May 2018. But in his book, Revenge: Meghan, Harry And The War Between The Windsors, Tom Bower wrote that Meghan "suspected Victoria Beckham of indiscretion", adding, "Harry called David Beckham to repeat the accusation." Bower went on to detail how "outraged" David was by these claims and it's thought the couples have grown apart since then.
Fallout aside, there's no doubt that Meghan, 41, will see the financial benefits of working with brands in the way the Beckhams do and Nick suggested she'll be keen to "emulate" the type of success David has had with the likes of Adidas, Tudor Watches and Haig Club.
