Nicki Chapman has opened up about her striking new look, telling us that "loose jowls" and a dreaded double chin had taken her self-consciousness to the extreme - so much so, the Escape To The Country host would avoid having her photo taken.
"We're all critical of something in our bodies, and for me it was the skin under my jawline," she told us following her non-surgical makeover. "I hated my neck being photographed before this."
Despite her on-screen confidence, Nicki, 56, said she had become downhearted about her appearance in recent years, but the idea of taking time off work to go under the knife had put her off booking a consultation with a surgeon.
Nicki - who was forced to temporarily quit filming in 2019 to undergo surgery to remove a non-malignant, golf-ball-sized brain tumour - explained, "The way that I work for TV and radio, I need to be available all the time.
"So, I can't have a treatment that's going to take me out for two or three weeks."
Feeling as though she'd hit rock bottom with nowhere to turn, on a whim Nicki reached out at the end of last year to Dr Judy Todd, one of the UK's leading aesthetics practitioners, to seek alternative procedures.
And after being shown the results from Dr Judy's past clients - including tennis coach Judy Murray and Strictly judge Shirley Ballas-Nicki decided to undergo a series of high-tech facial treatments, with the hope that they could at least partially improve her dented confidence.
Now, just over eight months and five sessions later - that's roughly one every two months the former Pop Idol judge admits she feels like a new woman.
