After taking a three-year break from Made In Chelsea, Sophie Hermann has returned to SW3 for the reality show’s latest series – and it’s all thanks to pal Ollie Locke and his husband Gareth.
“They convinced me and it felt like the show needed it, in my opinion,” she says. “We’re injecting some OG goodness into the whole thing right now.”
From accusing Maeva D’Ascanio of “spitting” on her mink to saying Jamie Laing went from “caviar to catfish” when he started dating Sophie Habboo, the German socialite hasn’t been afraid of ruffling feathers in Raffles or starting bust-ups in Bluebird.
However, Sophie, 37, says she agreed to return to Made In Chelsea on one condition – that she didn’t have to film with Maeva, who she frequently clashed with on set.
“I’m not filming with people who spat on my mink. No mink spitters,” Sophie says. “It’s in my contract. Grandma’s mink is getting out unscathed this time.”
During her hiatus from the E4 show, Sophie worked on her clothing collection and skincare brand – but also set about freezing her eggs.
“I froze seven eggs last year, so that was a big thing for me. I was banking my egg cells, that’s good to do for the future,” she says. “Advocating for women’s health and women’s rights in general is still very important to me.” While Sophie is currently single, she isn’t in a rush to find love – particularly as the London dating scene is, she says, “despicable”.
