'I WANT TO HELP WOMEN OPEN UP ABOUT ANXIETY'

Being pregnant with twins is enough to give any mum a few sleepless nights, so it’s no wonder reality star Dani Dyer wants to talk about anxiety.

Dani, 26, who is already mum to Santiago, two, has created her first ever documentary and in this one-off show she explores the connection around anxiety and motherhood – something very personal to the young mum.

“I wanted this documentary to mean something to me,” she says. “It’s an important topic. Being a mum myself, I know how amazing it is, but also how hard it can be. And it was hard to film, but I feel like you have to share these issues to make people feel like it’s normal to talk.

“That’s what I really want, for people to be able to relate to it, know that it’s normal to feel how they do and to talk more. That is definitely the whole point of this documentary for women, if they’re struggling to open up.”

Even though Dani’s admitted to having suffered from anxiety for some years, she confesses that during her first pregnancy with her son, Santiago, who she shares with ex-partner Sammy Kimmence, her thoughts and feelings began to change.

“When I was young, I was a bit anxious and when I came off Love Island, I think I was really anxious because it’s such a big life change,” Dani says. “When I got pregnant, I was worried about the health of my baby, would he be OK? When I had him, it was during the pandemic, so there was a lot of isolation, it was a tough time.
