Former Married At First Sight UK star Lara Eyre opens up on her failed marriage to fellow contestant Richie Dews

Lara Eyre shot to stardom on last year's Married At First Sight UK when she tied knot with Richie Dews.

But while then 49-year-old Lara had hopes of finding The One, it was quickly apparent things weren't going to work out with her on-screen husband, 52.

Here to share her view of what went down in their relationship, on-screen and off, the waitress turned TV star tells new she feels as though she was robbed of her chance at love after being paired with "the guy who gave everyone the ick"...

Hi, Lara! Did appearing on MAFS last year live up to your expectations?

I was always a huge fan of the show, and I thought, "I want love and these people are going to find me somebody really, really great, and I'm not going to be alone any more. And I'm gonna have all this love and it's gonna change my whole world." And I mean, I believe everything I see on TV, I'm just kind of like that, but being on a reality TV show was like finding out how the sausage is made. Though they say to you a million times, "This is a TV show," all I could hear was, "You're going to find love." No one could tell me otherwise, so I was disappointed that I didn't get what I hoped for.

How do you feel now about being paired up with Richie?
