First came the podcast, then the Netflix doc, then Harry’s best-selling autobiography Spare – and now the Duchess of Sussex’s old lifestyle blog is set for revival. And it’s possible Meghan could rival Gwyneth Paltrow as a lifestyle guru by relaunching The Tig, which she founded back in 2014 while filming Suits – two years before she met Prince Harry.
The 41-year-old has filed with the US Trademark and Patent Office to launch a “revamped” version of the site, covering “food, cooking, recipes, travel, relationships, fashion, style, interior design, lifestyle, the arts, culture, design, conscious living, health and wellness”. Papers about the relaunched Tig state it may also include “commentary in the field of personal relationships”.
Meghan shut down her passion project – which could in future go head-to-head with Gwyn’s £200 million lifestyle brand Goop – after a three-year run in 2017, when she got engaged to Prince Harry. As soon as The Tig was closed, all of the site’s posts disappeared.
However, resurfaced entries offer a flavour of what it featured, with Meghan posting about everything from her plans to drink “some cocktail that’s oddly pink” on Valentine’s Day 2015 to reflecting on a time a decade earlier when she “only had $40 in my bank account”.
