The Duchess of Sussex is considering a dramatic U-turn over her family’s upcoming visit to the UK as she fears for her children’s safety following a leak of their plans, a source has told new.
The mum-of-two, 42, was hoping to travel to the UK with Prince Harry and their children next month, but the source said her security fears have left Harry contemplating another solo trip.
They claimed Harry isn’t happy with the possible change of plan because he feels the pull of his former home more than ever, following the news of his father and sister-in-law’s cancer battles, and he wants to be “supported by his wife”.
“It’s now got to the point where Meghan doesn’t want to come to the UK with the children. She just doesn’t feel safe,” the source said. “The situation is now about whether the family should attend with increased security or Harry should go it alone.”
The source claimed Harry, 39, has begged his wife to reconsider, telling her, “I don’t want to do this alone.”
“Harry doesn’t want to keep making solo trips to the UK,” the source said. “He would prefer it if the entire family made regular visits to see his family and build bridges, but there is so much going on behind the scenes that it just isn’t possible at the moment.”
The couple were due to visit Britain to attend the Invictus Games 10th Anniversary Service at St Paul’s Cathedral on 8 May, and it was widely reported they would bring their children - Prince Archie, nearly five, and Princess Lilibet, two - but a question mark now hangs over whether they will all come.
